The Circus Gang

Short layful Bio:

***MASSIMO MINERVINI***
Parallel lives that intertwine. Massimo Minervini graduates and holds a PhD in Computer Science with flying colors, but as much time is spent working on the computer as is spent on training. For more than fifteen years, in fact, Massimo has been cultivating a passion for the circus arts at the same time.
***FEDERICA PENNETTA***
Federica Pennetta, has curly hair and, as they say, “every hedgehog is a whim”. So getting out of the box is continually a temptation! If his creativity is to explode, it must necessarily manifest itself in a form … a circle! But why, if the circle is the perfect shape, should we be happy only with one?

COMPLETE BIO

***MASSIMO MINERVINI***

Parallel lives that intertwine. Massimo Minervini graduates and holds a PhD in Computer Science with flying colors, but as much time is spent working on the computer as is spent on training. For more than fifteen years, in fact, Massimo has been cultivating a passion for the circus arts at the same time. Everything starts with balls, clubs, rings, experimentation with movement and juggling in pairs, which are deepened thanks to the participation in various conventions and rallies but also to workshops with international professionals in the sector (with Doreen Grossman, Lorenzo Gessa, Kiko Porcella ). To complement juggling, he also studies balancing on stilts and unicycle. For some years he studied artistic gymnastics and then capoeira, practicing acrobatics on the ground, verticalism, and acrobalance. He trained with professionals in the circus sector in verticalism (Nicolas Montes De Oca, Olger Çaçi, Pascal Angelier, Simone Romanò), acrodance (Tom Weksler, Francesco Sgrò, Daniele Sorisi, Andrea Cerrato, Daniele Sardella), and flexibility (Manu Romano) for the study of acrobatic movement. Part of his studio is also dedicated to clowns (with Aldo Rendina), aerial acrobatics (with Claudia Bandecchi and Elisa Drago) and contemporary dance. In 2013, with Cristiana Soldaini and Federica Pennetta, Massimo founded “The Circus Gang”. A company of artists currently alive and productive with which it has the opportunity to share performances on stage and in the street, circus teaching experiences in Italy and in Europe. He is also engaged in artistic collaborations with other companies, including the “Furfanti da Fiaba” project born in 2018 with Irene Rametta, Alice Casarosa and Daniele Tamberi. Currently, with the school and company Antitesi Teatro Circo, he is engaged as a teacher of the course of Mixcirco adults paired with Federica Pennetta and as a performer in the circus-theater show “Imago”.

Why does the world need playfulness?

We believe in playfulness as a means of both learning and socializing. For circus players, the game is an incentive to create more and more interesting and innovative things. For those who are not circus, playing through circus disciplines is an incredible tool for experiencing sociability.
