I am an artist investigating play through creating experiences with touch, sound, movement, materials. I am studying an MA Sculpture at the Slade in London, UK. My artwork is usually sculptural and performance-based and can be participatory too. I also teach Art and Creative Writing in community centres, galleries and schools as Paint Write Now. Play is a big part of my teaching and this informs my art practice.
Play is an attitude, a way of being for me. It can be about deeply accepting myself in the moment. It can be about projecting outwards to others. It can be about communication and listening. It can be about excitement and joy! It can be about mindfulness and sound. It crosses over with my meditation practice, with how I learn, with how I communicate with others.
Two truths and a lie about Katherine:
Katherine loves coriander. She does yoga every day. Her favourite art material is metal ducting.
